In what has become the biggest movie since Titanic (and will overpass the sunken love boat soon), The Dark Knight has committed to continue his reign over the world at Southern Cal. It only makes sense - the biggest movie of the decade teams up with the most popular college football program.

USC head coach Pete Carroll was quoted as saying “I fully expect Bruce [Wayne] to come in, start as a freshman, and win at least 3 Heismans. If he can throw a ninja bat star, he can definitely throw a damn football.”

More batty news coming soon on this breaking development…

You think the BCS sucks and want playoffs? Too bad.

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Last week, the big shots of several NCAA football conferences met via conference call to discuss the future of college football, plans for changes, and of course the Bowl Championship Series. Upon entering discussion of a future playoff system, the opinion was shared by all that we are nowhere near one.

Big East commissioner Mike Tranghese stated: “I have not seen anything that works unless you do things that presidents aren’t going to accept. Presidents are not going to allow a football playoff to venture into the second semester, deep into the second semester. They’re not going to allow football playoffs to take place during exams. And they’re not going to start playing football early in August.”

If the commish of the Big East wasn’t discouring enough, here’s what the SEC’s head honco, Roy Kramer, had to say: “Not in my lifetime. I don’t see much support for it nationally. I don’t see any overwhelming sentiment nationally to move in that direction. And the Pac-10 and Big Ten don’t have any interest in it and I don’t see that changing.”

I’m sure Roy is just bitter after watching his SEC get dominated by the Big Ten the last two years…..

While the debate of BCS vs. playoffs is going to rage again this season, let’s all agree on one thing: The 2008 College Football Season starts in 45 days and I couldn’t be happier. Pass this 2008 Helmet Schedule around the office with your buddies and watch everyone smile.

Erin Andrews Breaking News

Breaking news along the AP wire and ESPN headquarters shows a recent AP poll by the Associated Press, presumably, shows some stunning results involving the ESPN field reporter, Erin Andrews. According to the poll, Andrews can now definitely, without question, be labeled “Not Ugly”.

The polls, which mysteriously accounted for 101% of Americans, showed that 98% of all Americans, given the choice, would “not kick her out of bed”. Many consider this a milestone in Andrew’s career (read Erin Andrews Bio considering prestigious “not ugly” label has been unsuccessfully pursued by the likes of Martina Navratilova and Whoopi Goldberg for years. Among those 2% of respondents who claimed they would actually kick Andrews out of bed where Jimmy Clausen, Mario Lopez, and the gay guy from Will and Grace. Nobody could be reach for comment.

Beano “the Hutt” Cook claims Notre Dame wins at least 9 in 2008

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Beano Cook, most famous for having more necks than accurate predictions, once again hopped on the Notre Dame bandwagoon claiming the Irish will win at least 9 games in the approaching college football season. In a recent interview with ESPN’s Ivan Maisel, Cook mumbled out a bold prediction, stating “Notre Dame will be at least 9-3, 10-2.”

Shocked and disgusted, Maisel asked, “In what season?” Beano Cook Love Notre Dame

Beano continued to defend the Irish; who last to 3 high school teams last year. “If they beat Michigan, I think they’ll be 10-2. They’re not playing with a bunch of biology students. They have material.” The sloppy college football expect went on to say “If they beat Michigan and Michigan State, they’re going to the USC game with a perfect record.”

Although Notre Dame’s schedule doesn’t exactly look fierce, there’s no chance Fupa Weis turns a Clausen-led squad into a double-digit win team.
