Lee Sucks. Drops to 2-2.

Lee’s up and down season of predictions continues.  Last week at the LSU vs Auburn showdown, Lee donned the Tiger mascot.  The wrong tiger mascot.  He picked Auburn to defeat the defending national champion, Louisiana State Tigers.

Corso appeared to be correct with just over 1:00 minute remaining in the game.  However, LSU backup QB Jarrett Lee hit receiver Brandon LaFell on an 18 yard score to put the tigers who wear yellow on top 26-21.  They held on to win the big SEC match up and continued their quest for back-to-back BCS titles.

This Saturday provides another tough challenge for Lee as the guys with the best job on the planet travel to Athens, GA to watch yet another monster Southeastern Conference battle; the #9 Crimson Tide battle #3 Georgia.

This game is a “must win” for Lee as it could put him in the losing column for good if he chooses wrong.  Which he will.

Notre Dame is a bunch of cheating alcoholics

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Two scandals rocked the golden walls of Notre Dame this past weekend.  To kick off the controversey, the Losin’ Irish were found with a laptop computer in the box with its offensive and defensive coordinators during their loss to Michigan State. What they were doing with the computer is unknown.  They could’ve been tracking tendencies of the Spartans.  They may have been watching past MSU games.  They probably were just ordering lunch from pizzahut.com for Charlie’s fupa.

Whatever the Irish staff was doing with the laptop; it was illegal.  When asked, that fat coach said” “It wasn’t like somebody was trying to do something illegal. And I made sure I let them know it at halftime that that was the case. The last thing I ever want to do is lie.”  This is coming from the man who contributed to the infamous New England Patriot scandal, Spygate.

To further deface the ND team, some of their players were arrested in an underage drinking raid.  Early Sunday morning, 41 arrests were made; mostly Notre Dame students, some football players.  The most famous player being Mike Golic Jr; the son of ESPN radio talk-show host Mike Golic.  While most of the public is looking down on these players, I personally respect them.  If you can’t score on the field, at least use your student athlete status to score at home.

On a side note, sophomore quarterback Jimmy Clausen was not involved in the festivities as he had a pre-scheduled appearance at a children’s petting zoo.

Terrelle Pryor owns Columbus.

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

The Pryor era has begun in Ohio’s capital.  After a sloppy loss at USC, the conservative Senator Tressel pulled the plug on 6th year senior Todd Boeckman, giving super recruit Terrelle Pryor his first start against the Troy Trojans.  Coach Jim stated throughout the week that Pryor and Boeckman would be splitting time under center.  However, it was Pryor that took 98% of the snaps.  Going into the game, we knew we were going to start Terrelle, but we also felt as if there were some things Todd had been doing better and we wanted to get him in there early,’ Tressel said.

In his starting debut, TP tossed 4 touchdown passes and had a last-second first-half heave picked off.  This doubles Boeckman’s TD passes through the first 3 games.  The 18 year old freshman also covered 66 yards on the ground, including some very impressive movement in and out of the pocket.  While Buckeye fans are rejoicing in their new-found star, let’s not forget that his performance still had some holes to it and was against the defense of Troy.

If Tressel does keep Pryor as the starter, his first big test will come in two weeks when the 13th ranked (overrated?) Buckeyes travel to Camp Randall to take on the Wisconsin Badgers at night; where the Buckeyes have had problems in years past.

Will Chris “Beanie” Wells be back for that Big Ten showdown?  Will anyone know what is true injury is?

Stay tuned to MGAF and watch as the Pryor Parade continues.

The Unofficial BCS Rankings - Week #3

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Our pals over at BCS Guru are still wasting their time compiling rankings before they matter so that tools like you and us discuss them.  It’s working.  USC now has a stranglehold on #1 after destroying a junior varsity Buckeye squad on their home court.  OSU fell all the way to number 16, but will still find a way to sneak into the National Championship.  Again.

Lee Corso shocks the world and improves record to 2-1.

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Lee Corso has surprised his mother today.  He has a winning record in something.  That’s something we rarely see.  While some Ohio State tools were picking the Buckeyes to stop the Trojan offense, the rest of the nation knew what would happen; and it did.  USC routed OSU 35-3 in a game where the drama left the field after 5:00 minutes.

Lee’s tan was very pleased with the creativity of signs that showed up at the the Los Angeles Coliseum.  As I’ve stated in previous posts, the average college student has become lame and not funny whatsoever.  However, the Trojan/Buckeye crew proved that theory false as they brought the humor.

MGAF was able to snag some quality pics of this weeks best Gameday Signs:

1. Erin Andrews meet me at Skybar at 9PM

 2.  Our sweaters are better than yours

img176/5305/1000064dz2.jpg

3. US & C nice

4.  Ryan Lewis lives with his parents

5.  ESPN Injury Report-  Beanie: Doubtful  OSU loss: Definite

And yes, Shame-U owns one of those signs.  I’ll give you 10 high fives if you can guess which one?

We’re back from Los Angeles.

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

After five days of debauchery, the MGAF crew is back.   While we visited the City of Angels, our expense account found it to be the City of Devils.  Getting a combined 10 hours of sleep over four nights, we found out that Cali really knows how to party.   However, that did not stop us from attending a third-straight Gameday.

img118/505/shameuuscgamedayll3.jpg

As you can see over the bronze god’s shoulder, Shame-U rolled out of bed at 7:00 am pacific time to improve it’s Gameday record to 3 straight appearances in 2008.   With no sleep at all, the tailgating continued.  Our crew even caught a climpse of super RILF Erin Andrews.  Honestly, she is really not that hot and all of us could do better….       I’m lying.

We stumbled on the Holy Grail of tailgating while outside the Coliseum.  Only in SoCal would you find an absolutely enormous white tent filled with HD TV’s, gourmet food, white leather couches, and most important - an open bar.  We spent many hours under this shrine watching the Junior Varisty Michigan/Notre Dame game as well as the typical Big Ten fallapart against Pac 10.

img227/7961/usctailgatezq2.jpg img227/5305/usctailgate2kl7.jpg

Overall, the trip was a success.  We watched Ohio State fans throw themselves into on-coming traffic and watched USC fans throw themselves into on-coming hot blonds with fake boobs.  Jim Tressel now faces the pressure of the fans, alumni, boosters, and those who provide big time cash to pay his recruits.  Will he start mega-recruit Terrelle Pryor next game?  Or will he stick with the 18th year statue, Todd Boeckman?

On the opposite sideline, Petey Carroll is smiling, tanning, and winning.  Right now, it’s good to be a Trojan fan.  Too bad we’re not.

The MGAF staff heads to OSU/USC game

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Yes, we are writing this from the airport.   The MGAF/Shame-U crew is heading to Los Angeles to watch the biggest college football clash of the season.  For those of you going, look for us slangin some t-shirts and buy us a much deserved beer.  For you losers staying home, watch us yet again on ESPN College Gameday.  (Which by the sucks on the West Coast.  7:30 am?!)

We will be updating with pictures of our crusade to L.A. as well as pics from our  crazy nights out with Spencer Pratt.

Spencer Pratt

Beanie Wells makes his return to the Buckeye lineup claiming that he is “ready to carry the ball 45 times on Saturday.”  Considering the Beanmeister will be facing one of, if not the, best defenses in all of the nation.   Both the Ohio State junior running back and USC QB1 Mark Sanchez continue their own marches to the Heisman Trophy.

The experts at ESPN break down the featured match up in this video.

MGAF’s official prediction - Ohio State 28 USC 24.

See you in Los Angeles!

Corso improves record to 1-1, Shame-U makes another appearance at Gameday

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

The former Indiana joke-of-a-coach actually predicted a game correctly.    I don’t give him too much credit though.  Picking the #5 team in the nation at home over an unranked Miami team isn’t too difficult.  Perhaps the biggest test of Corso’s knowledge of college football will come next weekend at the game of the year, Ohio State at USC.

Lee Corso

The signs are Gameday are really in a slump this year.  I know the sign Nazi’s are in full effect, but you college kids (and old guys like us wishing we were in college) need to step it up.  The semi-funny signs this week:

1.  Shame-U loves Kirk’s mystic tan.  (I’m not even biased, definitely the funniest sign)

2.  The only Hurricane that conquers Gators is IKE.

3.  Hurricane Forecast:  Rainey all day

4.  thUgs

5.  Butt Noor ( I have no idea what this is)

I really expect the Buckeye/Trojan crew to really bring their A game this weekend at ESPN Gameday.

USC, Ohio State ranked #1 and 2 in first unofficial BCS standings

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

The BCS is like a terrible car accident on the side of the road.  It’s terrible.  No one likes it.  It makes people sick to their stomachs.  Yet we can’t stop looking at it.  And discussing it.

While the official BCSucks rankings don’t come out for several more weeks, we can always refer back to the unofficial rankings done by the BCSGuru.   The way-too-early-to-tell rankings are as follows:

1. USC

2. Ohio State

3. Florida

4. Georgia

5. LSU

6. Oklahoma

7. Missouri

8. West Virginia

9. Texas

10. Auburn

Whether these will be close to the final season standings is anyone’s guess.  Notice who is at the top 2 spots on the mock BCS rankings, the Trojans and Buckeyes.  The MGAF staff still has a hunch that Ohio State will also jump Georgia in the AP/Coaches polls to #2, setting up a monster 1 vs 2 showdown September 13 when the Buckeyes travel to USC.

Beanie goes down.

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

In what has become the biggest news story on ESPN, Ohio State star running back Chris “Beanie” Wells went down with a foot injury in the third quarter against perennial BCS contender, the Penguins of Youngstown State.

There’s been speculation around the injury and what the actual diagnosis is.  Broken foot, sprained ankle, turf toe, etc.  Many fans/experts are also questioning Beanie’s toughness.  Rumors are flying that it was merely a cramp in which pained the Heisman candidate so much, he fumbled the ball, had to be carried off the field, and then carted off into the locker room.

As all 106,000 fans in the Horseshoe were holding their breath, Wells did make an appearance back onto the OSU sideline wearing a walking boot.

Beanie Wells in boot

Officials at THEE Ohio State University are planning on releasing official diagnosis info Tuesday afternoon.  Stay tuned to any ESPN channel for 1,938 updates throughout the day.  The biggest question surrounding the injury:  Will Beanie be on the field when Ohio State faces USC in the biggest game of the year, Sept 13?
